“What is art? What is fashion?” What is transformative fashion design?
The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier at the Brooklyn Museum
From Madonna’s cone bra, to sponsoring the 03-04 exhibit in the Costume Institute of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art entitled “Braveheart: Men in Skirts,” Jean Paul Gaultier has pushed the boundaries of fashion since he began his career in 1970. A groundbreaking man with an eye for truly modern fashion and art, Gaultier has had an impressive and highly creative career thus far, never wavering in his commitment to transformative design. His exhibition, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk, at the Brooklyn Museum closed this weekend and will now move on to The Barbican in London. Hopefully it’ll make its way to LA sometime this year. Enjoy these images from the exhibit.
