Susan told me the story of how she almost lost her 15th anniversary diamond! It had fallen out of the ring but luckily was found teetering on the inside wheel well in the trunk of her car. Her girlfriend had Lady’s Luck and miraculously found it after retracing their steps, insisting the parking valet reopen the trunk.
The odd thing is, just a week prior to that Susan had a dream that she had lost her diamond. A week later she looked down at her hand while on a trip to Las Vegas and the stone was gone! Talk about bad luck! What a powerful premonition, her connection to this meaningful ring was so strong. Not wishing to test her luck again, the stone lay silently tucked away in a plastic bag in a drawer for over 6 years until we met. She did not want to take the chance of losing it again.
It is no longer in a pronged setting but in a bezel setting made for her stone. Susan had another piece of jewelry from which we repurposed the stones creating a matching band. She wanted the band to represent her three children with stones on either side of the engagement piece. Since, she had 12 stones I suggested dividing the ring into 4 sections of three.
I thought it was such a sweet sentiment and embodiment of what her family means to her. Susan is indeed a lucky lady. Happy Mother’s Day Susan!
