We are attracted to similar things even if they cross mediums. If we like the color red, we may like it in clothing as well as furniture. We see the world and draw connections. This influences my designs and it also influences the art I am drawn to as a collector. Shown here, a recent discovery though, I am not sure why I should be surprised, as it makes perfect sense.
Making Connections
The aquamarine stone with its mirror cut allows us to see all the wonderful inclusions. The inclusions are a disturbance in purity but create interest and beauty. The inclusions themselves becomes a piece of art. I love the color. It is calming and peaceful with the allure of the Caribbean blue waters.
In addition, notice one of Jennifer Perlmutter’s paintings, The Middle Way. The lines and the layers of materials and textures create depth enhanced by the color of aqua tying the two pieces together. No wonder it is one of my favorite new painting by Jennifer. Making connections in the ways we see things.
Have an infinitely modern day!
