Raymond Loewy, the French-born American who revolutionized product design and became known as, The Father of Industrial Design. Loewy had modern ideas in a stagnant age. Nothing popped, nothing wowed nothing stood out. Loewy changed all that. Credited with slenderizing the Coca-Cola bottle, designing the Lucky Strike cigarette package and designing several Studebaker models. Loewy helped to change the public’s view of products from ordinary, mundane material items into things crucial to helping express themselves. He became, ““the designer of the ‘American way of life’ in the 1940’s.” The LA Times said, “Not many industrial designers create work that is appreciated by the art world, and Loewy had a tough time gaining the respect of cultural gatekeepers.” But gain their respect he did. He played a major role in helping industrial advances keep their creative side intact.
Have an infinitely modern day!
