Well actually black never left. It is always a chic classic and an overall favorite for many. But the particular shade I’m speaking about is black onyx. As legend has it, Cupid cut Venus’ fingernails as she was sleeping and scattered them on the shore. The fates changed them to stone so that they would last forever just like the immortal goddess herself. Typically onyx is found in black but could also be found in white, dark brown, reddish brown and banded. Black onyx is a form of chalcedony which is a variety of quartz.
Even if the color of onyx is artificially enhanced it does not lessen the value of the stone. Good to know! Considered by some to give strength and increase stamina. My favorite proposed quality of onyx is that it gives you self confidence and makes you feel at ease in your surroundings. What’s sexier than that? Here at CED we really love onyx and luckily for us (and convenient for you!) CED and Modeux by Claudia Endler are now available at Artful Home.
Have an infinitely modern day!
