I recently came across this fabulous Collectors Weekly article about Tziporah Salamon and her style sense. Included in the article was mention of Ari Seth Cohen’s upcoming book, Advance Style. Cohen’s book, and the preluding blog too, feature the truly glamorous elderly fashionistas of Manhattan. That got me thinking; it almost seems like fashion has lost something in recent years. Think of the most fabulous, glamorous women you know. And I mean truly, elegantly, glamorous. How many of them are under 60?
The Icons
Especially relevant are the icons: Jackie O., Audrey Hepburn, Coco Channel, Catherine Hepburn, and Elizabeth Taylor. While granted, they didn’t become icons at age 60, (we all have the potential to be fabulous at any age) but their senses of style, undeniably intertwined with their public personas, set them apart and have kept them above the rest throughout the years. I think it can be too easy to discredit the generations before us as they continue to get older. But in conclusion, the truth is, you are never too old to be fabulous and glamorous.
Have an infinitely modern day!
