“The important thing to know about jewelry is that you never really own it; you’re simply a custodian of beautiful things.” –Elizabeth Taylor
Elizabeth Taylor died last Wednesday at the age of 79. Along with her glamour, charm, beauty and philanthropist nature, she possessed a passion for jewelry. Taylor was the owner of some of the most famous gems in history; the Burton Taylor diamond, a 69.42 carat pear-shaped stone; the 33 carat Krupp diamond; and Wallis Simpson’s Duchess of Windsor Brooch.
In addition to owning several of the most stunning stones in history, Taylor opened her own jewelry store, House of Taylor, in 2005. More profitable than the store were her many jewelry auctions for charities including her own, the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Over the years Taylor distributed over $8 million to AIDS organizations. Elizabeth Taylor was passionate about many things: love, life, charity and beautiful, glimmering jewels.
Have an infinitely [Elizabeth Taylor kind of glamorous] day!
