At first it was International Women’s Day, then National Women’s History Week and finally in 1987 it was changed to National Women’s History Month.
Our history is our strength. It’s not that our history as women differs from our country’s history, or minorities’ history, or political history very much; our history intertwines with all of these. It is significant for us to learn our history as a separate entity because it is who we are. March is Women’s History Month.
We are women, we are strong, we’ve come a long way and we’ve accomplished a lot. Knowing our past will inspire those in our future to reach for their dreams and attain what currently seems unattainable. People always say history repeats itself, if our repeating trends are breaking glass ceilings and achieving greatness then I’m alright with that. Our history is our strength.
