With Father’s Day a few days away I’ve been reflecting about my father a lot lately. As we both get older, our dynamic has changed, our roles are shifting, and I’m realizing things won’t always be the same. But, there are a few things about my dad that have never changed, and for those I am grateful.
One of my favorite things about my dad, is how we still hold hands when we cross the street together. Although, now I’m holding his instead of him holding mine.
Another of my favorite things about my dad, is how even now, he always wants to drop me off and pick me up from the airport. Partly to keep me safe, partly to keep me company. He’s so sweet.
But maybe my most favorite thing about my dad is that every time I see him, he tells me he doesn’t know what he would do without me. But the truth is, I don’t know what I would do without him.
I am so thankful for my father, the relationship we share, and the special things that never change.
