American Arts Festival – Feb 22-24
The festival features 200 fine art and contemporary craft exhibitors, each selected through a jury system for the originality and quality of their work. The event will not only be one of the premier art shows in the area in 2008, but is also becoming one of the top art festivals in the country.

We often hear the terms “rock,” “crystal,” and “gemstone” used interchangeably, but it’s important to note their differences in the context of jewelry, so you can ascertain the value of what your buying, or appreciate what you’re receiving when accepting a gift. So, this month, CED offers a little “Geology 101” for you educated consumers out there.
November 2007 – A Sunny Disposition For This Month’s Birthstone
As temperatures drop during these crisp November days, we’ve chosen to feature one of three of this month’s traditional birthstones, the citrine, which is more than appropriate. Its warm hues complement the season’s color schemes with a sunny brightness that’s alluring for year-round wear as well. The yellow topaz and pearl are November’s other traditional birthstones, but with all that citrine has going for it, we couldn’t wait for the opportunity to shine the spotlight on it.
October 2007 – Helping Mr. Right Know Your Style
Okay, so your man is not Mr. Metrosexual, but he is Mr. Right. As wonderful as it would be if men could be more observant of our tastes or to just know what we like, let’s be realistic and admit that most need our guiding hand. Truth is, unlike most women, most men are just not wired to observe style variations. If you keep him in the dark about the essentials of your style, is it really his fault that you now have an antique piece when you are really a modern girl?

September 2007 – Interview With a Sapphire
Sapphires… not just blue… not just September’s birthstone… not just the symbolic gemstone for the fifth and 45th wedding anniversaries. And thanks to the late Princess Diana’s choice of an 18-carat sapphire engagement ring following her betrothal to Prince Charles in 1981, the sapphire made a steadfast comeback as a popular alternative to the diamond engagement ring.
