January 2007 – What do we mean by Commitment 2007?

JANUARY 2007 NEWSLETTER
“It’s hard to go with a trend. As soon as it’s out, everyone picks it up. It’s important to stay true to yourself. Have fun with fashion, instead of letting it dictate. ” – Estella Warren

NEW “JEWEL”
“It is unusual to see an amethyst cut into an oval cabochon. There is something mystical about it.” – ce

Set in a yellow gold bezel with a white gold shank adds dimension to this oval cut amethyst. If purple is not your color, this may just change your mind. It changed mine. The iolite bar-drop earrings are interesting, because as you move, the drops change color from a deep periwinkle to a smoky quartz.
Amethyst 14k ring $1,475.00; Iolite earrings 14k $565

THANK YOU!!!!
Our annual client appreciation event, Commitment 2007, and chocolate martini party at the urban downtown environs of Telemachus Studio was a smashing success. We featured the paintings of international artist and costume designer Maria Schicker and music by DJ Mat Chaney. We wish a special “Thank You” to our friends and co-hosts Melynda Eccles, Carl Smith, Mat Chaney and also Sun Kim and our friend Julie Woo, who helped us shake those delicious concoctions on extremely short notice! If you attended this event and did not receive your gift bag, please let us know. We will mail it to you.

Commitment: (noun) A pledge to something or someone.

  • Personal commitment: Interaction dominated by obligations. These obligations may be mutual or self-imposed, explicitly stated or not.

JANUARY’S FEATURE: What do we mean by Commitment 2007?
How the commitment was bornAt CED, we believe that “commitment” is to ourselves first, and then to anyone or anything else. Making certain commitments to yourself defines who you are and the people whom you may attract. Not unlike the jewelry you wear that reveals something about you.

Claudia Endler started her business, not with a family background in jewelry, but driven by passion. Ever since she can remember, her fascination with jewelry would keep her glued to the store windows, the sparkles in the cases capturing her attention.

Before realizing her true calling… Claudia had careers working for someone else in various fields, including accounting, property management, a sales rep in the fashion industry, and AIDS research. Having gone through a divorce in her early 30’s and another career change, Claudia began exploring a realm different than she was used to.

She embarked on taking jewelry classes, art classes, graphic design and other related fields. Nothing held the same attraction as creating something out of nothing, using precious materials and colorful stones. Fascinated with the three dimensionality of working on little sculptures, jewelry was something no other career could fulfill.

Being the perfectionist that comes from her German heritage, she would sit studiously, night after night, at her dining table working on perfecting her craft. Working 2 jobs to support her jewelry making habit, she saved her money to make one piece at a time. After several years, the habit could no longer be called, “just a hobby” as her collection and her clients grew. Claudia officially launched her collection in 2000.

Her first endeavors in jewelry design were to recreate things lost in the past, but soon her own style was exposed. The clean simple lines of her work are symbolic of her true self “being seen”. During those years, Claudia made the commitment to be true to herself and her dream of pursuing an entrepreneurial creative path. Revealing more of one’s self became the company tagline, “Reveal More”. Her work honors those who wish to reveal their own unique qualities.

Her philosophy is based on one of creativity, growth and connection, which is not only a personal mission, but carries forth into all of her endeavors.Reveal More through the commitments you make and the jewelry you wear. The CED Commitment Event each January celebrates her clients and those intentions. Enjoy 2007!

FROM ONE OF OUR CLIENTS

THE WAY OF CHIC:
Setting the intentions that direct your life is very chic.

STYLE RECOGNITION
Color, mood, tones, depth and layers in composition of the abstract evoke emotions. Maria Schicker grew up in East Germany before the wall came down. Her artwork reflects her experiences and each one is an homage to her innermost feelings. However, the artist, rather than explain her work, would rather the viewer experience the work themselves. Like the layers of the crayon, acrylics, ink and wax, there is a complexity of feelings that will stir your soul. Her work has been shown in many galleries, both in Europe and here in Los Angeles. In fact, her paintings have added atmosphere to numerous scenes in movies and television. Maria Schicker’s creativity has many expressions. Not only is she an accomplished artist, but also an award winning costume designer. Most recently, Maria has been nominated by the Costume Designer’s Guild for her work on the television series, “Cold Case”.
