I was happy to be able to watch the 2014 Oscar’s from the living room of a friend this year since we do not own a TV. I must say I did quite enjoy it!
There were several things that struck me aside from Ellen DeGeneres‘ bringing me to laughter so I thought I would share.
Sweeping Gowns
Gowns that swept across the floor leaving a trail of fabric behind them. Whether body hugging mermaid or draped around the waist either cut on the bias or with insets, creating a dramatic flair adding to Hollywood glamor made modern. Loved the Dior, Charlize Theron was wearing a perfect fit with the sheer organza at the bottom.
Ice Ice Baby
While this is not a new trend…the trend of stacking the diamonds upon diamond bracelets is a glamorous throwback. We did see some color but mostly it was the diamonds that bejeweled the necks and wrists of most…including diamond studs for the men’s tuxedo. What I loved was the brooch that Tyler Perry wore on his tux. I am predicting a trend…brooches for men. My man has one does yours?
White Wedding – Not
Just goes to show you white is not only for weddings. Both men and women white is the new black this year. Kate Hudson in her tightly flowing frock. Both Mathew Mcconaughey and Jared Leto not to mention hostess Ellen DeGeneres all dress in YSL regarded white with some importance.
What was your favorite trend at the Oscars?
