NEW “JEWEL”

“This pavé slim band adds sparkle to our architectural style” – ce

The pavé technique of setting diamonds engraves the metal into tiny beads that hold the stones in place. Traditionally used in antique settings, Claudia Endler Design melds it with her modern shapes. Delicate and feminine, when worn on its own. Bold and distinctive, when stacked with wider rings. Either way this ring is a precious addition and is available in other shapes and sizes. Shown here, the ‘Slim Radius’ set in 18k white gold with diamonds is $1,250.

Luis Santos and Gary Kaloostian – Real Stuff Productions
Luis and Gary are the creative team behind this whimsical and colorful business of one-of-a- kind mosaic arts. In 1995, Luis decided that purchasing commercial furnishings for the home and garden was not only expensive, but also frustrating. From picture frames to an outdoor bar, whether he is working on his own creations or collaborating on your ideas, each of Luis’ works is painstakingly designed and hand crafted. As does any artist, each piece is signed and dated.

NOVEMBER’S FEATURE: How to clean your gold jewelry.
All jewelry needs to be cleaned regularly to maintain its beauty and luster. Film will develop from perfumes, lotions, soaps and body oils. Gold can also oxidize depending on the karat weight and other metal content.

We do not recommend wearing gold jewelry or other fine jewelry while doing housework, working out, gardening or using chemicals. Also we suggest staying away from chlorine and other bleaches, including the swimming pool.

Liquid Soap Bath – You can use any mild liquid detergent (i.e. dishwashing soap) in a bowl with warm water. Let it soak. Then use a soft brush, such as an eyebrow brush or soft used toothbrush, to gently clean the jewelry. Rinse well with warm running water and pat dry with a soft lint-free cloth. Some suggest immersing the jewelry in rubbing alcohol, before putting into the bath, to loosen any film.

Cold Water Soak – Mix equal parts of water and ammonia in a cup and soak for about 30 minutes. Using a soft brush, gently clean the jewelry. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a lint free cloth.

Jewelry Cleaners – Commercial brands of jewelry cleaners also work well. You can dip them into the basket and the brush is provided. Just make sure you read the instructions. Not all cleaners work with all metals or gemstones.

Ultrasonic Cleaners – They loosen the dirt through high frequency vibration. Jewelry is placed into the machine with water and a special detergent. These little machines come in various qualities.

Your gold jewelry is precious. Keep jewelry stored separately, not in a pile with other things. Soft cloth, velvet bags or trays will keep them from being scratched.

A Word of Caution – Not all jewelry can be cleaned as above. You must be cautious of the stones in the jewelry. Some may be sensitive to ammonias and soaps. If in doubt… do not do it.
