What or who did you make a commitment to?
We made a commitment to a lifelong journey together as husband and wife. Our wedding was not to mark the start of a relationship but to recognize a bond that already existed.
What was going on in your life and prompted you to make this commitment?
Two uniquely creative individuals with complimentary energies, whose paths came together more than 6 years ago, we met each other through our fashion careers while working together in New York. We fell in love when we discovered the true treasure of the other hidden within. Jay captured Krista’s heart with his sense of humor, patience, and sweet disposition. Krista being the hopeless romantic added passion, companionship, and social adventure to the union. After the many years of being very close friends, we were ready to take that next step. “Faith is taking the first step when you are unable to see the whole staircase.” We were ready to see the wonderful life ahead of us; together. So as we continue on our lifelong journey together in this sacred union, we always remember that unity is rooted in oneness. Without unity we are divided.
Why did you choose this design? How does it make you feel?
The beautiful engagement ring that Claudia had designed for us has very symbolic meaning. The two bands represent each of our lives and the diamond is the strength that holds us together in a lifelong journey. Jay’s birthstone was embedded on the inner part of the ring that symbolizes his heart will always be with Krista no matter where she is. Jay’s wedding band is a similar replica of the design of Krista’s ring that holds the same meaning. This also contains Krista’s birthstone on the inner side that also symbolizes her heart will always be with him. These rings symbolize the ties that bind us together as husband and wife. As often as we look at these rings, we are always reminded of the enduring covenant to love each other that we made the day we were married.
What is your favorite quote that inspires you or you live by? And why?
These quotes symbolize the drive and passion that we have for life and our purpose of living it to the fullest. That purpose is something we both share and the love we have for each other. When we first met we realized instantly the love and desire we have for our careers and how much our goals in life aligned. We were both out there looking for something we already had- that true partner in life and love. We have learned to never give up on our dreams and keep pushing forward.
