“Women have always been the strong ones of the world.” — Coco Chanel
I recently read an article on Vogue.com entitled, “8 Things We Learned from Diane von Furstenberg’s Talk with the Ghost of Coco Chanel.” It grabbed my attention because, aside from being two of the most iconic names in fashion, DVF and Coco Chanel are two of my female entrepreneur role models. I don’t think it’s any secret that I adore Diane von Furstenberg and think that everything she does is fabulous. However, the respect and admiration I have for Coco Chanel is different. I’m not so into her style, as it doesn’t quite align with my personal taste, but she was a strong woman who made the life she wanted.
I particularly loved this quote from the Vogue article, “The one thing we certainly have in common is that we were our own ancestors. That we invented ourselves. . . . Chanel was the essence of a woman. I always said when I was a young woman, I want a man’s life in a woman’s body. And both of us did that.” They’ve both left an inspiring legacy, now it’s our turn to create our own.
But first, let’s glean a bit of visual inspiration from the one and only, (and my personal favorite) Diane von Furstenberg. And don’t you think it’s hard to miss how well CED pairs with DVF? *wink*wink*
