Rich and Alyssa are both creatives in the architectural and design field. Rich first contacted me he wanted to propose and she said yes! Yay! We were honored to have made their wedding rings when they got married about seven years ago. We are so thrilled that they are now they are celebrating the arrival of their son.
In honor of the great occasion and big birthday, Rich reached out to create something special for the lady in his life, now his wife, Alyssa. He wanted this gift to incorporate their son’s birthstone, amethyst, and reflect their taste for structure, minimalism, and something to wow her. He really wanted something custom. Seems a little stone just would not do.
This large scale amethyst I found in Tucson was what impressed him. Its scale, shape and inclusions inside the stone make it so interesting and I could not resist and neither could Rich. Perfect for a one-of-a-kind pendant.
I came up with a set of ideas and Rich and I collaborated for the final product. When working with simplicity proportions are so important, so instead of 4 thinner lines we opted for 2 slightly thicker lines. We discussed how she would be wearing. Closer to her neck resulted in a shorter bail length.
A modern commitment statement piece that says I love you.
“Gave it to her this weekend, she loves it! Thank you so much!” – Rich B.
Thank you, Rich and Alyssa, and congratulations!
